5 special eggs were delivered to our nursery. We wondered what might hatch?? Could it be more chicks?? Or maybe some dinosaurs??

On the 18th May 2018 the Bishop of Durham visited Horden as part of his prayer walk in the Eastington areas. Our children and staff excitedly waited for him to walk up the bank from the beach. It was lovely to meet the Bishop and his wife and friends, who took the time to stop and speak to the children showing a real interest in our school.
To celebrate the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan we all attended nursery in our best attire. We enjoyed a wedding breakfast together and even looked at some of the wedding albums of our staff.
We wish both Harry and Meghan the best for their future together!
Over the past few weeks we have been carefully watching the progress of the baby chicks that have been hatching at our nursery. This has been a fantastic experience enabling the children to observe the life cycle of a chicken first hand. We are not too sure who has enjoyed it more, the children or their parents and families!
Look in our special projects section to find out more information.
The children have asked lots of questions, found information out from books and the internet and have documented their observations through drawings. They have also learnt to care for the chicks including how to handle them correctly.
In order to raise funds for Sports Relief we took part in a fun fitness session, a walk around the beach banks and a trip to the park to climb and slide. We talked about keeping fit and healthy and why it was important to help others who are not as fortunate as us. Well done to the staff and children, we really were out of breath!
We have been collecting food items in partnership with Langley House Care Home for our local food bank. Thank you to all of our families who have generously donated. Many families will be able to benefit from your kindness.
What a fantastic time we have had celebrating world book day. Children and staff all dressed up as their favourite character and we enjoyed taking part in book related activities throughout the day.
